This weekend tropical storm Irene hit New York City; in preparation, the mayor issued an evacuation order for low-lying areas and shut down the subways. For a recap of how the hurricane affected us here in the Bronx, check out my dad's continual iReport video coverage:

Uhhhh Your pops is a handsome fellow. Not much of a blow in the Bronx. I was stationed for a time at the Brooklyn Navy Yard but we would have gone to sea and rode it out there. Man that shit was fun when I was your age. 40 foot seas are enough to make a grown man cry. Good thing I was just a kid.
